Run, run run - along the gnarly Huia Ridge

Starting from Karekare again, Alan took us running along the worst tracks in the area that he could find. We climbed from sea level to Te Toiokawharu - the highest point in the Waitakere ranges.

The Huia ridge track kept everyone on their toes with lots of roots, rocks and mud. Great slides & summersaults all round meaning plenty of bruises and gashes at the end. No streams or swimming for a change but an off-track section near Zion hill provided some navigational challenges and some nasty bush that ate Paul's hat. Glad to drop down to Karekare beach after 20km and 5hrs running. Even more glad of a couple of beers and big feed at Al's place.
