Genesis Energy a provider of gas and electricity to more than 585,000 New Zealand customers collaborates with Theta to develop and implement its business intelligence strategy.
The business intelligence team identified strategic information requirements and integrated them into a Data Mart pilot using Oracle Technology for one of the Genesis's business areas. This pilot synthesised data from selected operational sources to provide strategic information and trends that would assist management to make complex decisions.
As a result, a business intelligence framework was established and is now used as a basis for decisions relating to technical infrastructure, resources and implementation. These principles have allowed a quick rollout of data marts in Genesis's other business areas.
