The bank had already completed a high level ICT audit and identified areas to be addressed. Theta was engaged to complete the audit process through a detailed examination of NBS’ ICT infrastructure, systems and processes, and develop a program of work to strengthen reliability and stability and support the delivery of business goals.
Since starting work with the bank in 2015 there has been a huge improvement in the performance of core ICT infrastructure. Extended ATM outages are now a thing of the past, and bank systems are now well supported and stable.
Says NBS’ Business Information Manager Afa’ese Farane:
“With Theta’s help, we are beginning to realise my vision of a bank that’s ready to face the future. Senior leadership is recognising the benefits of this, and our ICT team has also learned a lot from working with Theta.”
He adds:
“We have ambitious plans, but with Theta’s help we have a roadmap. We know where we’re going and how we’re going to get there.”
Choosing to work with Theta was in many ways an easy decision for Farane:
“My relationship with Theta goes back a very long way, and in all my dealings with the company I’ve had nothing but good experiences.”
He adds:
“The thing for me is the people, and the relationships you have with them. A lot of people have skills, but not necessarily the right attitude. With Theta you get the full package – people who know what they’re doing technically, and will go beyond the normal tour of duty to get things done and get them right. They have a great attitude, and you really get the sense that they care about their customers.”
The partnership with the bank is an ongoing one, with plans for a mobile app and more in the pipeline.
