Prepping for 2021's Whangamata Adventure Race

By

Theta

We managed to squeeze in an adventure race just before lockdown in 2020 and thought perhaps 2021 could be off the cards, but we're happy to say that we're signed up for 2021's race - and it's coming up in a few months. Cue some panic training!

We get involved with these races in support of Cure Kids. It's been a tough year for fundraising with a lack of our usual 'in person' big-ticket fundraisers such as international lunches and BBQ's, but we're getting back into the swing of things.

The Whangamata Adventure Race will be held on the 7th of August and we’re aiming to enter a few teams this time around due to, dare we say it, an unprecedented surge of interest. This will hopefully include a 12-hour, 6-hour and 3-hour team.

Alan Moore (who is also celebrating his 10th year of adventure racing for Theta) will once again be leading the 12-hour team through the varying terrain of the Coromandel. With a bit of a colder start compared to our Summer adventure races, it'll no doubt be a fantastic and challenging experience for all those who have put their hands up this year.

As always, we're doing it for the kids! Over the next few weeks, we'll endeavour to keep you updated with the latest news from our teams.
