Great Adventure Race 2016: raising funds for Cure Kids

By

Theta

With just a couple of weeks to go until this year's big event, we've upped the fundraising ante, and are now not far off our initial goal of raising $10K or more for Cure Kids. Here's the lowdown on our latest activities.

Charity auctions

As ever, Theta staff have been creative when it comes to raising money for Cure Kids, giving our time, experience, knowledge & equipment to put together experiences or services that others can bid for.

Paddle boarding, self defence classes, whisky tasting and raceway laps have been among the weekly auctions on offer. And we've also bid for the opportunity to "pie" our fellow team members - most recently the boss himself!

Family picnic and beach adventure

Putting the "fun" in "fundraising", Alan Moore applied his many years adventure race experience to the design of a fantastic adventure last Sunday for Theta staff and their families. Equipped with maps and torches we had 90 minutes to find as many markers as we could, in the stunning, cinematic setting that is Karekare beach. Thanks to Alan and his family, and to Haixia, David and others who helped set things up, took the photographs below, and fed us all afterwards. We'll let the photos of the event speak for themselves...

Our total raised in this year's Great Adventure Race campaign stands at $9,663.17. Visit our fundraising page to make a donation and support Cure Kids and the huge efforts of our adventure racers.
