Our initial focus was on business intelligence and data warehousing, and appropriately the practice, now 60 strong, was known as Theta BI. Now, on top of this traditional business intelligence, with advanced analytics techniques and tools, we can do much more with data than was previously possible.
Our new name, Theta Analytics, reflects this new reality.
More data is available than ever before, from many different sources. Some data might reside in business systems, or in a data warehouse. Other data might come from external sources, like social media and mobile apps, or from demographic, climate, IoT and other data sources. The value of that data is best realised when it can be combined, analysed and visualised, fast.
New tools and technologies that make that possible – including machine learning - are now available and affordable. Says Head of Theta Analytics Gary Blumgart:
