First class MicroStrategy user conference

By

Theta

New Zealand’s third MicroStrategy user conference was held in Auckland last month, hosted by Air New Zealand in their state of the art Customer Collaboration & Innovation Centre in Beaumont St. The facility boasts a full scale replica of the cabin of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Attendees enjoyed trying out the first class seats!

Theta customers University of Auckland, Ezibuy and Sky City all presented case studies on the native mobile apps they had built using the platform, and many other customers were in attendance. Sefton Thesing moderated a lively panel discussion on user adoption, Gary Blumgart spoke about BI governance, and Pieter Coetzee led the “MicroStrategy Bites” session on performance optimisation. We also heard what’s new in MicroStrategy v10.3 and v10.4 from the MicroStrategy team in Australia, and from Theta collaborators SOAP on UX design for mobile and dashboards.

Outside of the formal part of the day, there were great opportunities to network over lunch and then again over pizza and drinks at the end of the day. It’s not often you have more than 65 MicroStrategy users, developers and experts together in one room, so there was plenty to talk about!

Event feedback was excellent, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event, hosted by another of our customers, The Warehouse.

The first MicroStrategy User Group Conference was hosted in 2014 by Ministry for Primary Industries, and last year’s event was hosted by University of Auckland.
